Boscov's Mens Room
In all my public restroom explorations, I am totally convinced convinced that the workers at Boscov's use restrooms other than those reserved for the common folks, like the customers, like paying customers. The doors don't close there is graffiti on the walls and some time if you are feeling lucky, there some TP on the rolls. Many years ago, the New York City transit system used Incandescent light bulbs, but they kept getting stolen . People would unscrew them and take them home, NYC quickly switched to bulbs that had reversed threads on them. The thievery stopped as quickly as it began. What going on in Boscov's, are the low life scum coming in off the streets and stealing the TP or is it just running out and not being replaced. AND while we are on the subject of ambiance, who is the brainchild of the stall decorating system. On first look they all look like the public bus station crappers, filthy and dirty. but the true artist in me realized that one stall is dedicated to the male and female anatomy drawing class at at Broome Tech, the next cube is dedicated to joemama jokes and the third stall is specifically for setting up same sex rendezvous. Don't toe tap at Boscov's. I'm not saying that the janitor does a poor job here but it is as clean as he or she can make it the once a week that he cleans it. I hope that the cleaning person uses Lysol after, or before they do the cleaning thing there. BTW, if you go over to Lysol you can print oout a coupomn worth $5.00 on your next purchases of Lysol Product, but hurry, it expires soon.
i m am saying that for a store that gets beau coupe tax abatement from the city, the toilets could use a gallon of paint, the heat turned on and maybe a little redecorating. These toilets are the pits. They get a rating of 1 LID COVER only because the poor slob that has to clean them does the best he can. and except for the stall that the FECALARTIST redid in early shit stain, I am not afraid to get too many crabs from taking a whiz there. These are dirty restrooms. Potentially, Broome County's dirties public restroom facility in the circle that I travel in.

Manley's Mighty Mart - 4 out of 5 Lids
There are 43 Manley's Mighty Marts in Broome County and the surrounding area. The are now supplying different brands of gasoline like Valero and Gulf. The family that owns Manley's live in the area, up towards Ithaca and so they have some fat in the game. You can go in a Mighty Mart, get some fresh snacks a couple cans of soda, some beer and cigarettes. Some Mighty Marts have pizza places attached to them...nice touch. The stores are clean and so are the rest rooms. The one I generally use is always clean, has TP, soap and paper towels. I wouldn't say super clean like at home but pretty darn good. I will almost always pick up a lotto ticket there and maybe a candy bar. I vote four out of a possible 5 lids for this place, only because it is a service station and gets a loty of usage so it could get cleaned once an hour like Wegman's but a service station rest room will never ... almost never get 5 lids from me. I wouldn't hesitate if I needed to use the rest room and I was passing the Mighty Mart.
And Hey, some if not all of the Mighty Marts give free air ... instead of charging 25 or 50 cents for it like that other place on Watson Blvd. that also has clean rest rooms. This is a big plus in my book. ***Thanks Manley's!!***
***Hey, dude, Did you Wash your up after you were done?***

Wegman's Rated: 5 out of 5 Bowls
Wegman's has it all: Deli, Flower Shop, Beer emporium, butcher, bakers; they have is all including clean rest rooms. So many people use these rooms that Wegman's makes sure they are clean all the time. One of the nice things about the Wegman's Rest Rooms is that they put a spray cleaner in each stall, so you can do a quick clean of the seat before you sit down. No need to hover at Wegman's. You can find that foamy soap to wash up with, paper towels AND blowing Air.
Add to that the fresh flowers and fancy tile work, if ya gotta go, Wegman's gets 5 Bowl Rating.
By the way, Wegman's is often rated one of the top places to work in America. The folks that I know that work(ed) there were pleased with the beni's and the working conditions. Maybe that is why the people that work there go out of their way to help you. They have at least 18 stores in three states including PA and now in Virginia. In case you live under a rock, the Wegman's around here is in Johnson City. As a side note: they have 9 stores in Syracuse.
Don't Forget: Be kind and Wash Your Hands when you are done, there's food out there.

Broome Country Public Restrooms - You are on Notice
We are off on a quixotic adventure, where no punches will be thrown. Our goal is to visit and rate the public restrooms in Broome County. We are not kidding, we are flush with anger about some of the rest rooms in this area...and some of the store manager attitudes about those who gotta go!! . The Number 1 and Number 2 goal of this blog is to tell you who's got the good restrooms and who doen't. AND who is not providing Rest Rooms to those that need to use them!!
Yes we are not going to take this sitting down any more. If you run a clean rest room, expect to get reported here. If you run a dirty rest room, that's fair game here. If you have a rest room that should be public and you are not letting your customers use it, it will be told here because you are breaking the intent and letter of the NYS sanitary laws.
Tune in often and to our NYS site if you live or travel outside the Broome County area.
Ooops gotta go...
